Current firmware versions are available as soon as they are mentioned. New devices are delivered with them as standard, existing customers can have an update carried out for a fee. New features, additions or changes from previous versions that have been retained are not explicitly listed again unless they have been modified or deleted.
0.0.31Z (17.12.2024):
- Pressing buttons 3 and 4 simultaneously activates or deactivates the TR mode (Thermal Refinement) on 15mK devices. The screen goes dark for about 4s, then the device restarts with the maximum possible thermal resolution and vice versa.
0.0.28/29Z (24.10.2024):
- Outline mode display in black color, centered position
- MT bearing mark enlarged and changed to MilDot
- Maximum possible number of incorrect PIN entries reduced from 5 to 3
- The “X” in the name of the zoom levels is now lowercase: 0.8X becomes 0.8x
- Some distance estimation lines have been removed when the font displays overlap
0.0.26Z (23.09.2024):
- Outline mode indicator now consists of an orange circle
- Renaming the DT function to MC (mounting check)
- In the INFO menu, under CT, the core temperature can be read in °C
- When entering the PIN, a bright field is displayed to ensure sufficient contrast for better recognition of the numbers even when the display brightness is low
- Display of the brightness indicator in the upper part of the display
- Correction of several small "blemishes" in the menu
0.0.25Z (22.04.2024):
- An active Outline mode is indicated by two nested small black squares in the top right of the display
- DT function: a reference mark can be displayed to check the repeatability of the assembly.
- During this time, no thermal image is displayed so that the function remains legal
- The brightness display is shown in the middle
0.0.13Z (08.01.2024):
- Briefly closing the front flap for approx. 0.5s no longer triggers the electromechanical shutter or calibration process, but calibrates the inside of the front flap and deactivates the automatic function, provided that this has not already been deactivated in the menu. This means that the device can still be used in very cold temperatures and if the shutter is frozen or defective.
0.0.10Z (24.09.2023):
identical functionality as 0.0.09Z
0.0.09Z (24.09.2023):
- Briefly pressing button 3 triggers the electromechanical shutter or calibration process and deactivates the automatic function, unless it has already been deactivated in the menu
- Briefly closing the front flap for approx. 0.5s triggers the electromechanical shutter or calibration process and deactivates the automatic function, unless it has already been deactivated in the menu
- Long press of button 3 switches the outline mode on or off. Thermal springs are outlined with a red or false-colored silhouette with a few pixels thickness - regardless of the selected filter. If not already present, the outline mode can only be installed by completely disassembling the device; a pure FW update is not sufficient
- As soon as the menu is called up, an overview of the key functions is visible at the bottom right of the screen
- In addition to NFOV, XFOV (eXtremely narrow Field Of View) has been added: the font size of the menu has been halved, the position of the designators has been moved further to the middle. This means that the TigIR can be used optimally in front of optics with very high basic magnification and/or very narrow field of view, e.g. Schmidt & Bender 5-25×56 PM II, Hensoldt or Zeiss 6-24×56/72, Kahles 624i etc. as well as numerous spotting scopes.
- The maximum collimation range at 0.8x digital zoom has been increased again. It may happen that the maximum available (especially vertical) adjustment range at 0.8x digital zoom is not sufficient for collimation; it is best to deactivate this zoom level in this case. For technical and physical reasons, no other solution is possible here.
- When collimating, you can not only switch to the next higher zoom level by pressing and holding button 2, but also to the next lower level by pressing and holding button 1. This means that the collimation of two adjacent zoom levels can be directly compared, which makes the process much faster and more economical, and also makes it 0.8x easier to adjust the zoom level.
- The factory collimation is stored in all memory locations upon delivery, so that collimation can be carried out more quickly
